App Privacy Policy

CaseBook ("CaseBook," "we," "us," or "our") built the CaseBook: Mini MBA app (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We built CaseBook to respect your privacy: there are no user accounts, and most of your data stays on your device.

By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Information we collect

Information you provide

• Profile details you enter during onboarding or in your profile: your name, company name, company stage, business model, role, industry, and the challenges you select. This is used to personalize cases and coaching.
• Your written responses: the reflections and answers you type in the "Apply it to your business" step.

Information used by the AI Coach

• When you request AI coaching on a case, the App sends your written response and relevant profile context (such as your company name, stage, and role) to our AI provider, OpenAI, which generates the coaching feedback returned to you. Please review OpenAI's privacy practices for how they handle data submitted through their API.

Information collected automatically

• Technical data. When the App downloads case content and audio from our content delivery network (Netlify), standard server logs may record information such as your IP address, device type, and timestamps. This is typical web-server logging used to deliver content and maintain security.
• We do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking, and the App does not include advertising identifiers.

Subscription information

• Subscriptions and the free trial are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles your payment information; we receive only your subscription status (active or not active) so the App can unlock Pro features. We never receive or store your credit card or payment details.

How we use information

• To run the App's core features: showing cases, tracking your streak and progress, and saving your Playbook.
• To personalize cases and AI coaching to your business context.
• To deliver content and audio to your device.
• To maintain the security and reliability of the service.

Where your data is stored

• On your device. Your profile, progress, streak, completed cases, and Playbook are stored locally on your device using the operating system's standard storage. We do not operate user accounts and do not keep a copy of this data on our servers.
• Sent for processing. The only personal content that leaves your device is (a) the text and context sent to OpenAI when you use the AI Coach, and (b) standard technical data when downloading content.

Third-party services

The App relies on these providers, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy:

• Apple: App Store, subscriptions, and StoreKit (payments).
• OpenAI: generates AI coaching from the text and context you submit.
• Netlify: hosts and delivers case content and audio.

We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, the App schedules local reminders (daily case, streak, and weekly recap) on your device. If you opt in to new-case or news alerts, your device may receive push notifications. You can turn any of these off at any time in the App's Notifications screen or in iOS Settings.

Your choices and rights

• Edit or delete your data. You can edit your profile anytime, and "Reset all progress" in the Profile tab clears your profile, streak, and Playbook from your device.
• Delete the App. Removing the App deletes the local data stored on your device.
• Notifications. Manage all reminders in the App or in iOS Settings.
• Depending on where you live (for example, the EU and UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA and CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data and to object to certain processing. Because we store your data locally and do not maintain accounts, you can exercise most of these rights directly in the App. For data processed by OpenAI, Apple, or Netlify, please also refer to their policies. Children's privacy

CaseBook is intended for adults and a general business audience. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will address it.

Data security

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS and TLS), to protect data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100 percent secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
